Tablet Power Banks
Power banks for tablets should have a capacity of at least 10,000 mAh, optimally at least 15,000 mAh. Basically, this is a little more than what is needed to charge a mobile phone. The higher the capacity of your tablet power bank, the higher the number of times you can charge it. You'll definitely appreciate a higher capacity when youŕe outdoors a lot or when you're on the road without a way to recharge your phone.
However, the capacity of the power bank does not affect the speed at which it charges. It's the charging current that affects that. Again, the higher the output current of the power bank, the faster it will charge your device. What output current should you choose for your device?
- If you want to use a power bank to charge, for example, a smartwatch, a music player, a cheaper phone or a sports bracelet, you need a charging current of up to about 1.5 A.
- For smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, laptops and other devices with high power consumption and battery capacity, choose power banks with a charging current of 2.5 A or more.
- Modern fast-charging power banks designed for smartphones that support Power Delivery or Quick Charge can offer charging current up to 3A.
Good to know: the input current of a power bank designed to charge itself should optimally be around 2 A.
In the package you will usually find a power bank and a charging cable. An additional cable for charging the device needs to be purchased depending on the connector you need.
